At the time Animal Friends volunteer, Diane Wade, decided this year "A Christmas Story" would be the theme for the Animal Friends Philippi Christmas Parade float, she had no idea that the parade committee would choose "A Storybook Christmas" as the overall theme for the parade.  As it turned out, her vision was prophetic---and ultimately earned our float the "Theme" award.

Diane and her husband, Bill, started gathering and assembling the float components many weeks before the parade.  Piece by piece the project took shape and come parade night, all was ready to roll proudly onto the parade route down Main Street, where the crowd obviously enjoyed seeing the giant stuffed dog reading "A Christmas Story" to a captive audience of stuffed dogs and kitties.

All of the Animal Friends volunteers want to extend their sincere gratitude to Diane and Bill for the tremendous effort they put into this project.  Both of you have made us very proud! You are truly unsung heroes!
