No matter how you filled in the blank, if you've logged on to this website, you are lover of animals.  Our volunteers love animals, too.  Our deep-seated love for animals is why we organized Animal Friends.  It's why we decided that we were no longer going to accept the fact that animals brought into our County Shelter must ultimately wind up as garbage in our landfill.

Our love for these innocent creatures and our desire to see them placed in safe, loving adoptive homes has been the driving force in our lives these past 7 months.  Our volunteers have already given thousands of hours of their time in a myriad of ways to assure that we succeed in our mission.  So far, our efforts have saved the lives of more than 500 dogs and over 100 cats.  Animals that come into the shelter now are routinely
wormed and vaccinated.  Animals that are sick or injured are immediately treated by veterinarians, and kittens and puppies are getting special attention with our knowledgeable and compassionate foster caregivers.

To say that each of our volunteers is pleased with what we've achieved so far is an understatement.  We're thrilled!  The one thing we continue to wish for is a checkbook balance that's as big as our hearts.  We are grateful to all of you who have made financial contributions to our organization.  Our success is due, in no small part, to your generosity.  However, as you can well imagine, the animals' needs are ongoing, and we are asking for your help.

               *   Your $10.00 donation can help us provide initial vaccinations for 2 kittens.

               *   Your $25.00 donation can help us purchase and administer 3 feline leukemia tests, or                       provide  rabies shots for 3 animals.
                    .

               *   Your $50.00 donation can buy a doghouse for a foster caregiver, or a medium size                            kennel/crate needed for transporting animals to rescue groups.

               *   Your $75.00 donation can buy enough vaccine to give 25 puppies their initial                                     vaccinations.

               *   Your $100.00 donation would go a long way toward purchasing a microscope to do                           our own worm testing.
